Remove the Stigma
Surrounding Mental Health
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an internationally recognized program that teaches individuals how to speak to others about mental health by breaking down the stigma tied to it. Individuals learn to appropriately identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders by providing initial support and resources.
It is backed by the National Council for Behavioral Health.
As a certified instructor, Amy has the ability to certify individuals in becoming Mental Health First Aiders. Aiders have a better understanding of mental health. Veterinary teams can benefit from this program by having teams certified so conversations are productive, rather than awkward and mental health issues are addressed early, rather than too late.
